Flower of the Day: Jasmine

Requests have been pouring in for one of the sweetest flowers out there. Nothing smells like spring than jasmine in the air. Although it looks like stephanotis, you will find it in masses along bushes.

GATE Event

We had the privilege of doing flowers for the G.A.T.E. at the Saban Theater. What a great, inspiring night! A great perk of doing flowers for events is getting to go to them! 

Flower of the Day: Iris

We got called to teach a flower class for Iris Association in the Valley! Exciting! The ladies in this club are going to be in a competition and needed a little refresher course. Irises come in blue, yellow, and purple. The light blue ones have a dreamy effect. 

A Textured Holiday Centerpiece

This was created for Rue magazine for their holiday issue, however wasn't ultimately used due clashes with the decor. 

We used mostly red roses in black magic, with wood flowers, dyed brown mums, and safari sunset.

A Purple, Green, and White Centerpiece

Here's a sample centerpiece we made for a Spring wedding. It will be wrapped in burlap and have matching wood box arrangements. The sweetheart table one will be engraved. 

Flower of the Day: Amaryllis

Nothing screams winter wonderland more than a beautifully opened amaryllis. You can force these open by gently prying back the petals. They are great on their own. They are a longer last flower, so take advantage of them while they are in season!

We were blown away by the simplicity of this engagement shoot. With rustic and vintage on it's way out, fancy engagement shoots may be traded in for something that shows the couples real life.

A Day with Carly: [Sneak Peak] Stacey's Santa Barbara Wedding at Rockwood

I had the pleasure of doing flowers for my really great, amazing friend Stacey Paulas. We work together a lot doing styled shoots and weddings. She's the yin to my yang. She's the mac to my cheese. I brought out the big guns for her big day, and the result was stunning. Her wedding was filled with tears and laughter- overall joy exuding from all involved! Here's a pic from EP Love.

Flower Foodie: Over the top cake

We love this over the top cake. Not so much because it's "us", but because we love stuff that gives us inspiration. Covering your cake in hydrangea is a great way to add texture and flowers at the same time.

Flower Foodie: Flowers On Your Plate

If you can't have a flower arrangement on your table, how about having them on your plates! You can find some really beautiful vintage flower plates at your local flea market, you can even place your food around the flower pattern to add more color to your food.
